Training & Competency
- Workers must be trained in safe operating procedures (SOP & VOC)

- Breathing apparatus and sperm suits for fibrous material
Rig Safety Systems
- Fall arrests
- Guardrails and fall protection systems.
- Machine guarding on rotating equipment.
- Lockout/tagout procedures for maintenance.
- Fire suppression, fire extinguishers
- Dust suppression
Hazard Identification and Risk Management
- Use of Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Take 5 checklists.
- Site-specific risk assessments.
- Daily safety briefings (toolbox talks, pre-starts meetings).
Emergency Preparedness
- Clear evacuation routes and muster points.
- First-aid and fire-fighting equipment accessible on site.
- Communication systems for isolated locations.
Regulatory Compliance
- Adherence to Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws (Australia’s WHS Regulations).
- Training in WHS statutory for supervisors.
